FUTURE ENGINEERING
PROJECT INFO
State Route 41 (SR-41) serves as a principal north/south route connection north Fresno with the Central Business District (CBD). Regionally, SR-41 runs from Cabrillo Highway State Route (SR-1) in Morro Bay in the Central Coast to State Route 140 (SR-140) in Yosemite National Park in near Fresno and San Joaquin Valley. Segments of the existing SR-41 serve as an expressway from SR-198 in Lemoore to South Fresno, extending into Madera County. Due to past accident history, Caltrans planned to modify the intersection of SR-41 and 416, the adjacent roadway segment in the City of Fresno.
The purpose of this project is to prepare the project plans, specifications, and estimates, also known as the PS&E phase. Caltrans has given a team of 11 students from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona the task of delivering the project design package along the stretch of SR-41, from post mile 23.2 to 23.6 in the City of Fresno. This Final Project Report summarizes the results of the year-long project design and specifications.
